Swallow Reports $324,000 Cash-on-Hand

Utah A.G. candidate John Swallow starts year with cash-on-hand advantage

Sandy, UT — John Swallow, 2012 candidate for Utah’s Attorney General, reported a cash-on-hand balance of $323,751 at year’s end. This balance surpasses his only declared opponent, Sean Reyes, by nearly $100,000.

John Swallow said, “It takes money to get out the conservative message – just like it takes money to stop the Obama administration in court. Whether it be fighting for access to our public lands or overturning the President’s unconstitutional health care bill, we’ll be ready to continue the fight.”

John Swallow is currently Utah’s Chief Deputy Attorney General of the Civil Division and is overseeing Utah’s effort to repeal the controversial health care bill requiring citizens to buy insurance.  Swallow is also leading Utah’s legal land battles with the federal government, such as the lawsuit to stop the Obama administration from identifying new “wild lands” in Utah and restricting their public use.

“Protecting Utah’s families, lands and freedoms from an overreaching government is one of the major reasons I’m running for Attorney General.  This administration, if left unchecked, would run wild until we had no personal liberties at all,” said Swallow, who has yet to officially launch his campaign and has spent less than a thousand dollars to date.

“We are confident that with this start, over $300,000 in the bank and almost $100,000 more than our opponent, we will have enough money to run a successful campaign,” said Jessica Fawson, Swallow’s newly-hired campaign manager.
